Rohde & Schwarz presents security scanner portfolio at Passenger Terminal EXPO 2025 in Madrid

Rohde & Schwarz is showcasing its collection of stationary and walk-through security scanners, designed to provide highest airport security while ensuring passenger comfort. Most recent the QPS Walk2000 is the first scanner used regularly for passenger screening at Frankfurt Airport. Also to be seen is the renowned QPS201 security scanner with an extension for intuitive passenger self-screening. The scanners will be shown from April 8 to 10, 2025, at booth 9530 in hall 9.

The QPS201 is the safest and most user-friendly option for air passengers. Visitors will witness the multi-step process towards fully automated screening that Rohde & Schwarz, in collaboration with dormakaba, a worldwide leader in intelligent and secure access solutions, has developed. The self-screening process for passengers enhances efficiency and improves the passenger experience, without sacrificing security. Crucially, it improves the work quality for security screeners, as they no longer need to carry out repetitive tasks and can concentrate on significant security procedures. The first large-scale trial with the self-screening solution is currently underway at Munich airport.

On day 2, Andreas Haegele, Vice President Microwave Imaging at Rohde & Schwarz, will be part of the conference talking about aviation worker screening together with Jon Taylor, Director of Public Safety at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Rohde & Schwarz and Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) had teamed up to set a new de facto standard for US aviation worker screening that relies on the QPS Walk2000. In partnership with DFW, Rohde & Schwarz has optimized the system's detection software to eliminate the need for aviation workers to remove employee badges, name tags, outerwear, and belts during screening. This innovation could potentially speed up security screening at airports especially during shift changes.

Both the QPS201 and the QPS Walk2000 can be experienced at the Passenger Terminal EXPO 2025 in Madrid, from April 8 to 10, at booth 9530.
