Join our Device Software Signaling Division in München (Germany) at the earliest possible date. You are responsible for running, maintaining and evolving an Opensearch Instance at Rohde & Schwarz used by many Mobile Radio Tester development teams. The service provides storage and computing framework for big data analysis, managing several TBs of data, and offering its users the ability to analyze the performance of their measurement device as well as the individual software components running on them.

Your tasks

Help to maintain an existing Opensearch instance and respond to outages during office hours
Implement strategies to scale up data storage to multiple data nodes to increase query performance and to increase fault tolerance
Implement automated monitoring of MRT performance including automated alerting in case of regressions
Enable visualization of OpenTelemetry trace data via Opensearch and/or Jaeger to help the team
Implement additional ingress pipeline to the cloud that allows pre-processing of data prior to opensearch ingestion

Your qualifications

Enrolled student in computer science, informatics, electrical engineering or comparable field of studies
Prior experience with Opensearch, Kibana or similar tools (strongly preferred)
Good proficiency in using scripting languages like Python
Prior experience with Kubernetes would be a plus
A foundational understanding of DevOps practices and tools would be a plus
Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership
Good command of spoken and written English and/or German ensuring effective communication with your colleagues
