Advanced Testing of 5G mmWave RF Systems

Presented by Fabricio Dourado (Rohde & Schwarz) Cecile Masse (Otava) Luc F. Langlois (Avnet)

Designing wireless systems to operate at mmWave frequencies presents unique challenges, calling for multi-disciplinary engineering teams with wide-ranging expertise in RF system design, digital signal processing, embedded software and emerging wireless standards. Test and measurement methodologies must be uniquely customized for the system at each stage of development, from initial signal test to production. Compounding the problem is the trend to de-centralized engineering teams widely scattered across locations and even time zones.

Join engineers from Otava, Avnet, and Rohde & Schwarz as they demonstrate test solutions for Avnet’s Wideband mmWave Radio Development Kit for the single chip combining programmable logic and a processing system, the Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC Gen-3. The test procedures make use of automated MATLAB-based measurement techniques, using Rohde & Schwarz’s 5G NR signal generation and analysis for remote testing through the new Rohde & Schwarz Secure Application Gateway™.
