IT security expert Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity and encryption expert GnuPG offer a universal and VS-NfD (RESTRICTED) compliant crypto solution with the combination of their R&S®Trusted Disk and GnuPG VS-Desktop® products. The encryption technology integrates seamlessly into work processes and makes cumbersome mechanisms such as transmitting passwords by phone or SMS when sending classified mail obsolete. Only a single smart card is required for the entire encryption process.

Munich, December 7, 2021 - Until now, companies and public institutions had to use two solutions for classified information - VS-NfD (RESTRICTED) and higher - for comprehensive encryption: a basic system encryption in accordance with German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) requirements and another solution for secure end-to-end encryption of files and mails. With R&S Trusted Disk and GnuPG VS-Desktop, there is now a total solution that offers a fully secured platform for encryption.

Hard disk encryption and identity management are handled by Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity, file and mail encryption by GnuPG. Due to the openness of GnuPG VS-Desktop system, end-to-end encryption via mail is possible not only with internal but also with external communication partners.

Only a smart card is required for the entire encryption process, enabling maximum security while maintaining productivity. No additional channel such as telephone or SMS is required for sending classified mails. Encrypted communication is easily possible - internally and externally - via the Internet. The overall crypto solution can be seamlessly integrated into existing system landscapes and users can maintain their workflows without being restricted in their work by restrictive security measures.

R&S Trusted Disk was developed based on the latest BSI specifications and is approved up to classification level VS-NfD (RESTRICTED). It includes modern random number generation as well as flexible recoding according to time and data volume to constantly maintain the high security level.

GnuPG VS-Desktop is a BSI approved version of the well-known GnuPG software and prevents third parties from reading any encrypted digital communication and data stored in the cloud - even if encrypted mails should be intercepted and stored in transit, they remain impossible for unauthorized persons to decrypt.
