Uncertainty Measurements

Presented by Paul Oesterle

Webinar: Uncertainty measurements

Modern transmission systems have evolved to meet the ever-increasing demands for data throughput by becoming more complex. The increase in complexity has pushed the envelope on testing specifications. For example, the DOCSIS 3.1 MER spec of 52 dB or better for 1024 QAM or 4096 QAM signals. Over the last few years, modern test equipment has dramatically improved in accuracy and reduced uncertainty. Frequently, measurement results are taken at face value and the time-honored practice of doing uncertainty analysis is left undone or ignored. This webinar is a practical discussion of some of the things that can impact the accuracy and uncertainty of measurement results. Signal-to-noise, signal-to-signal, and hardware impacts and how they affect measurements, are just some of the topics that will be discussed during this webinar.
