The OTA Calculator is a versatile tool designed for telecommunications engineers, offering two calculation modes: Link Budget and Field Strength. With the ability to calculate free space path loss (FSPL), electrical/magnetic field strength, power flux density, and the thermal noise floor, the OTA Calculator provides quick and accurate results to assess signal strength, coverage, and safety compliance in wireless communication systems.
Ultrawideband technology uses a very low energy level for short range communications, combining short signal pulses with a wide bandwidth. In addition to secure low power communication, a key use case for UWB is precise ranging up to the accuracy of a few centimeters. To enable such precision, it is important to calibrate and validate UWB devices, ideally based on over-the-air (OTA) measurements.
For the air interface, the study includes an analysis on how to enhance and optimize the reporting of downlink signal quality measurements based on Channel State Information (CSI) reference signals. Data published based on academic studies, showed an increase in efficiency when compressing and quantizing the number of required information bits when using an autoencoder.

Rohde & Schwarz supplies Emitech's new vehicle test center in France with its EMC test systemEmitech, a company specializing in applied testing for product qualification in the automotive sector, has inaugurated its new vehicle test center in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France. The EMC chamber is equipped with a complete EMC test system from Rohde & Schwarz including R&S BBA150, R&S BBA130 and R&S BBL200 broadband amplifiers, R&S ESW44 test receivers, R&S SMB100B RF signal generators and power meters. At the inauguration ceremony in March, Rohde & Schwarz also demonstrated its innovative solution for advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) testing.
