FAQs

Are mmWaves safe?

Yes, mmWaves are safe and pose no health risks. They use an extremely low transmit power and are 100% reflected by the skin.

What is the throughput?

Checkpoint throughput is dependent on a number of factors including passenger preparation and divestment for scanning and the number of resolution stations used. The average throughput for the R&S®QPS201 is 250-400 passengers per hour but higher through-put can be achieved at peak times with well trained staff and effective passenger communications.

How many operators are needed?

One operator is sufficient, but through-put can be increased by using additional resolution stations.

What are the scanner dimensions?

R&S®QPS201 dimensions (W × H × D): 1750 mm × 2320 mm × 1433 mm

R&S®QPS Walk2000 dimensions (H x W x L): 2490 mm × 1832 mm × 2750 mm & entrance width: 816 mm

Can R&S QPS scanners be installed next to each other or do they need distance between them or other screening equipment?

Scanners be installed directly side by side or within 10 centimeters of other devices. The QPS201’s system panels slide inward to allow maintenance access.
