High performance active frontend for mmWave

Combine and condition advanced FR2 RF signals

R&S®CMX-RF42E is the most compact active device in its class. It combines, amplifies, and attenuates radio signals from multiple sources, covering all FR2-1 frequency bands. It can be connected to selected models of the R&S®CMXHEAD series, such as R&S®CMXHEAD50. This enables advanced scenarios like interband carrier aggregation, where lower and higher-frequency bands are aggregated. R&S®CMX-RF42E also expands the dynamic range to allow higher downlink performance and increased sensitivity in the uplink.

Extended frequency range to support the most relevant FR2 signals

The R&S®CMX-RF42E handles all 3GPP frequency bands in FR2-1, from n257 to n262. Carriers from multiple bands can be combined in order to provide a single input stream for regular feed antennas of FR2 chambers.

Wide dynamic range

More downlink power and more uplink sensitivity

High class amplifiers in both TX and RX directions are used to significantly improve the dynamic range during 5G advanced mmWave measurements. The additional headroom goes beyond the 3GPP specification requirements and supports sophisticated test and measurement scenarios.
