The R&S®THR9 high-power FM transmitter family makes terrestrial broadcasting of audio broadcast signals extremely efficient and saves space. This high-power FM transmitter offers up to 75% energy efficiency. Liquid cooling and integration of multiple transmitters in a single rack minimizes space requirements. Audio broadcast network operators benefit from extremely low energy costs, maximum robustness and minimum maintenance expenses over the entire system lifetime.
The liquid-cooled transmitters deliver FM output power of up to 40 kW in a single rack.

R&S®THR9 transmitter systems offer maximum power density and can accommodate multiple transmitters in a single rack. This significantly reduces the footprint of the Rohde & Schwarz solution compared with conventional transmitters, allowing operators to substantially reduce the space required and site rental costs.

Pure liquid cooling

R&S®THR9 amplifier power supplies and first-stage combiners are liquid cooled. This maximizes lifetime and reliability. And it dramatically minimizes the amount of heat dissipated into the operating room and by that reduces air-conditioning costs.

HD Radio

The state-of-the art R&S®THR9 with HD Radio™ Generation 4 has substantially better crest factor reduction than 3rd-generation IBOC transmitters, maximizing energy efficiency and increasing HD Radio™ output power.
The radio is a safe investment with low cost of ownership, since they can switch from FM to HD Radio™ mode or increase the injection level with existing hardware.
