Key facts

  • Wide frequency range
  • Suitable for susceptibility and emission measurements
  • Very low cross-polarization
  • Compact size, low weight
  • Ease of handling

For radiated emission measurements

The linearly polarized R&S®HK116E biconical antenna provides broadband transmission and reception in the frequency range from 20 MHz to 300 MHz. Precise design makes the antenna especially suitable for field strength and EMI measurements. Although its main use is for interference measurements in the laboratory, it can also be employed at open-area test sites under moderate weather conditions and at low wind speeds.

Features & benefits

Little frequency dependence of radiation patterns

For consistent behavior over operating frequency range

The R&S®HK116E is designed as a biconical antenna with broadband operation that has a nearly frequency-independent radiation pattern, leading to uniform illumination of the DUT over the entire operating frequency range.

Very low cross polarization

For accurate polarization measurements

The design of the R&S®HK116E has very low cross-polarization, allowing accurate spatial measurements of electrical field vectors and more reliable results.

Easy and quick to mount/dismount

For easy handling

The R&S®HK116E is designed for easy and quick dismounting. This applies when attaching it to a mast or tripod and when dismantling the antenna itself. The operator saves time when changing antennas between measurements.

High measurement reproducibility

For reliable results

The mounting system of the biconical radiators ensures fixed orientation of the crossbars, leading to high reproducibility of electrical performance. This is in line with a recommendation in CISPR 16-1-6 Ed. 1.0 (A.4.2, A.4.3; avoidance of simple screwthread attached elements that lead to imprecise radiator orientation).
