FAQs

What is the R&S®InstrumentManager (IMA) and how can I access it?

The R&S®InstrumentManager (IMA) is a collaboration platform provided by Rohde & Schwarz to help customers manage their instruments, get instrument-related information and access self-service features.

There are two ways to access IMA:

1. Log into your account on GLORIS, which is the Rohde & Schwarz self-service portal where you can access various Rohde & Schwarz services. Once logged in, look for the ""InstrumentManager"" application under the "Service Portfolio" section.

2. You can also access IMA directly by following this link: www.rohde-schwarz.com/instrumentmanager/app..

Please note that to access IMA, you need to have a GLORIS account. If you do not have one yet, get started by registering here.

What is the meaning of Online Service Management (OSM) and GLORIS?

Online Service Management (OSM) is the predecessor to the InstrumentManager (IMA). Since the launch of IMA, OSM has been discontinued.

GLORIS is the Rohde & Schwarz self-service portal. It is a platform where users can access and manage their services. IMA is one example of a self-service application that falls under the broader category of services provided by GLORIS.

What instruments are shown in the R&S®InstrumentManager?

IMA provides two lists: one personal instrument list, which is used by the customer to manage their instruments, and one company list, which contains all Rohde & Schwarz instruments that belong to your company or legal entity. The personal instrument list is usually empty for new users.

To populate your list, you can select and assign relevant instruments from the company list to your personal instrument list. The company list is accessible with the function "Add"/ "Add from company list".

What is the company list?

The company list is an overview of all instruments associated with your company site or legal entity. It provides a comprehensive view of these instruments to help you manage and track them effectively.

For ease of use, we recommend that you unlock IMA Enhanced Right. This allows you to easily select all instruments that are relevant for you. Start the process here rohde-schwarz.com/docusign/start-enhanced-agreement.

What is the IMA Enhanced Access Right, how can I obtain it and check if it’s enabled?

Enhanced Access is an extension of the instrument visiblity in IMA. It provides an overview of the instruments in your company that may be relevant to you. The purpose of this is to simplify instrument assignment.

If you cannot access the company list via "Add / Add from company list", you may be missing this access right. Unlock the IMA Enhanced Right here [rohde-schwarz.com/docusign/start-enhanced-agreement].

I have many instruments. Do I have to register them all individually?

Instruments can be added individually any time via the "add instrument manually" function. For your convenience, we recommend unlocking the IMA Enhanced feature. This will allow you to select all instruments that are relevant for you. You can start the process here rohde-schwarz.com/docusign/start-enhanced-agreement.

If you are unable to unlock the IMA Enhanced feature, you can share a list of the instruments you need assigned through a Support Center request https://supportcenter.gloris.rohde-schwarz.com/.

Is it possible to see the options installed on an instrument?

Yes, it is possible to see the installed hardware and software options in the instrument details. The instrument details can be opened by clicking on the equipment type in the instrument list.

Can the calibration interval be customized?

Yes, the calibration interval can be adjusted. You can set your desired calibration interval in the instrument detail; this will determine the due date of your next calibration. You will be notified accordingly.

What is the support status of my instrument, and where can I see it?

The support status of an instrument refers to the ability of Rohde & Schwarz to provide support, i.e., upgrade or repair a specifc instrument. This status can be viewed in your personal instrument list as a color-coded description.

When the support status changes to “Limited," you may want to think about reinvesting in a new instrument.

You can add the detailed support status to your instrument list layout through the column customization.

What is the difference between a service request and contract?

A Service Request is used to start a scheduled or unscheduled service (maintenance service, such as a repair or a calibration) for a particular instrument, independent of the instrument warranty.

A Service Contract is service coverage, repairs or a service package which can be purchased after the warranty period to provide scheduled or unscheduled service.

What kind of service can be selected in the R&S®InstrumentManager?

All standard calibration and repair services offered by Rohde & Schwarz are available for selection in the R&S®InstrumentManager.
