Key facts
- Triple balanced mixer design offers superior port isolations
- Wide band application, e.g. RF=20.1 GHz to 40 GHz, IF= 0.1 GHz to 10 GHz
Key facts
Supporting up- and down-conversion from 10 MHz to 40 GHz, and with high LO to RF/IF isolation, the mixer is well suited as a calibration mixer when using R&S ZNA option ZNA-K5, Mixer Phase Measurements.
Acting as a frequency translating (unknown) through, the R&S ZN-ZM292 completes a manual calibration kit or an automatic calibration unit, to allow a full two-port UOSM calibration for frequency converting measurements.
Supports calibration of converter phase measurements utilizing option R&S ZNA-K5
A full two-port VNA calibation requires - beyond others - an (unknown) through calibration standard. To support mixer phase measurements, a frequency translating through is required instead, realized as so-called "calibration mixer". With the R&S ZN-ZM292, a correponding mixer is available up to 40 GHz.
Wide range of applications and conversion schematics
In contrast to a straight "through" calibration standard, an ordinary mixer typically features frequency band limitations. To support a wide range of frequency conversion schematics up to 40 GHz, the ZN-ZM292 can be used in a variety of conversion schematics, with an IF from 0.1 GHz to 39 GHz.
Oustanding reciprocity and RF properties
The accuracy of the absolute mixer phase and group delay test relies on the reciprocity of the mixer used for the calibration. The R&S ZN-ZM292 is optimized in this regard, and supports eg delay measurements with a reciprocity margin in the ps range.
