Flexible multipurpose attenuators

The R&S®RSC is a switchable, mechanical step attenuator. It is available in various models with up to 6 GHz and 18 GHz, and can also control compact external units up to 40 GHz and 67 GHz. The base units provide a GUI for various settings, calibration and configuration of external modules. All models have RF connectors on the front panel or rear panel for rack installation. The base units can also control external high frequency 40 GHz/67 GHz units with auto detect via USB. The RSC is a general purpose, flexible, high-performance swept attenuator for source and receiver calibration, high-power test setups, etc.

Features & benefits

Wide frequency and attenuation range

Up to 67 GHz, 139 dB attenuation

Thanks to its wide frequency and attenuation range, the RSC covers a wide variety of applications and is a versatile tool in the lab.

RF performance

Outstanding repeatability and accuracy

With specified repeatability of 0.02 dB (typical) and attenuation accuracy, the RSC is an excellent tool for calibrating sources, receivers and comprehensive calibration systems. User calibration can further enhance accuracy by integrating the test cable into the attenuation values.

Flexible configuration

GUI for individualization

Operators can use the clear GUI to configure the RSC and get it ready for an application. Its main features include various calibration capabilities, control of external attenuators and the ability to combine up to four external RSCs to form a new logical attenuator.
