Compact VHF/UHF transmit/receive antenna for naval applications

The R&S®AD066FW is an omnidirectional VHF/UHF antenna system for naval applications that can be used for transmitting or for receiving only. The R&S®AD066FW consists of the R&S®AD066F broadband VHF/UHF communications antenna, the R&S®FT066F beamforming network and applicable R&S®AD066FW-K cable sets. Dipoles arranged in a circle around a center support structure are combined to one output for excellent omnidirectional behavior. The antenna is designed for simultaneous use by several independent transmitters.

Wide frequency range

For handling VHF and UHF signals simultaneously

The R&S®AD066FW broadband VHF/UHF communications antenna system covers the frequency range from 118 MHz to 453 MHz. Together with a suitable coupling network, the antenna can simultaneously handle multiple transmit and receive VHF/UHF signals.

Excellent omnidirectionality

For undisturbed communications

The R&S®AD066FW has eight vertically polarized dipoles arranged in a circle in front of a reflector. The individual dipoles are combined into one output with excellent omnidirectionality. The whole antenna is arranged around a central mast, enabling gap-free omnidirectional communications.

High input power

For simultaneous use of multiple radio lines

The R&S®AD066FW broadband VHF/UHF communications antenna system is designed to handle high input power. This enables users to simultaneously connect a series of individual transmitters to a single antenna, reducing the space needed compared with conventional designs. Typical interference between antennas is also avoided.

Stackable antenna design

For easy mounting and retrofitting

The R&S®AD066FW is designed as a wrap-around mast antenna. The antenna has excellent omnidirectional behavior. As RX and TX paths are sometimes separated, a second antenna is required. The AD066FW is stackable, making it easy to mount additional antennas.

Ruggedized design

For use on ships

The R&S®AD066FW is DC grounded and designed to operate under harsh environmental conditions. The antenna can withstand high wind speeds, severe shocks and vibration exposure while also maintaining an extremely wide operating temperature range, making it ideal for naval applications.
