Rohde & Schwarz supports O2 Telefónica in the Gigabit Innovation Track (GINT) Project with 5G network quality measurements

Germany among other countries in Europe aims to have a well-connected railway network. The primary factor is to provide travelers a seamless experience and connectivity including high speed internet availability.

Rohde & Schwarz as a global player for test & measurement equipment along the wireless communication industry is providing the radio technology expertise to one of its long-standing partners O2 Telefónica to test the radio parameters along the high-speed train test track.

The measurement campaign supported by Rohde & Schwarz across the test network has already begun beginning of 2024 and further tests are defined within 2024.

The R&S service comprises the analysis and documentation of measurement data as well as the summary and reporting of measurement results and findings.

The measurement campaign includes both in-train and out-of-train 5G radio coverage measurements using high precision test solutions for data collection such as network scanners R&S®TSME6, R&S®Freerider 4 (backpack solution), QualiPoc Android (smartphone based solution) and data analytics (SmartAnalytics) for processing and analyzing the data. The focus is on end user experience as top criteria.
