Crossed log-periodic antenna for horizontal and vertical polarization

The R&S®HL024S8 consists of the R&S®HL024A1 crossed log-periodic antenna and two broadband preamplifiers. It can receive linearly polarized waves. Two RF connectors are included for simultaneous use of both polarization planes. The preamplifiers can be optionally switched on to prevent a significant reduction in S/N from loss in RF cables connecting the antenna to the receiver. The R&S®HL024S8 serves as an independent antenna and as a feed for the R&S®AC008 microwave directional antenna.

The R&S®HL024S8 has two switchable low-noise preamplifiers and switches to bypass them. The low-noise preamplifiers ensure maximum antenna sensitivity and prevent significant S/N reductions from losses in RF cables when connecting the antenna to the receiver. When exposed to high signal levels, the amplifiers can be bridged with the bypass.
