Rohde & Schwarz has always covered a significant share of its value chain in-house. This allows us to not only maintain high quality standards, but also to respond quickly and flexibly to customer needs. Even key components such as microelectronics and ASICs are developed and produced in-house. This reduces the risk of losing expertise and minimizes our reliance on suppliers.

Most of our products are developed in Germany. We have further development locations around the world – in Europe, the USA, Singapore and other Asia countries. Subsidiaries in Germany and Europe expand our portfolio with their specialized expertise.

The close proximity of R&D and production has always been an advantage for Rohde & Schwarz. The employees at the German plants in Memmingen and Teisnach as well as the Czech town of Vimperk close to the German border manufacture most of the product range. Additionally, smaller plants in Singapore and Malaysia keep production close to R&D at our Asian headquarters.

The reliable and consistent delivery capabilities of our plants ensure a constant supply for our customers and partners. In order to make sure that this remains the case in the future, we continuously invest in expanding our production capacities. State-of-the-art production processes, advanced automation technology and digitalization ensure maximum efficiency and the highest quality in production. Rohde & Schwarz Messgerätebau GmbH - Memmingen plant

The Memmingen plant focuses on production expertise for board manufacturing, microelectronics, final assembly and customer service for the Test & Measurement and Technology Systems Divisions. It is also responsible for the metrology, SCM processes and the development of test equipment. The plant has a calibration laboratory that is accredited by the German accreditation body (DAkkS) and an antenna test chamber that is unique throughout Europe.

As the competency center for projects and systems, the Teisnach plant manufactures, delivers and services radiocommunications systems, security scanners and transmitter systems. The plant’s portfolio also includes software development and mechanical design.
