Change step size from linear to logarithmic

Question

I change the level with the rotary knob but the step size is only linear and this is too rough when I'm coming to small values.

A logarithmic step size would be better here.

How can I change the step size of the rotary knob to logarithmic?

Changing the unit from V (volt) to dBV will change the step size from linear to logarithmic.
