Rohde & Schwarz and MediaTek verify 5G LBS Release 16 features on the R&S TS-LBS test solutionRohde & Schwarz and MediaTek have successfully verified new location based services (LBS) features for 5G NR as defined in 3GPP Release 16. These features will not only improve emergency caller location, but also support upcoming LBS-related use cases in challenging indoor and outdoor environments with both, satellite based and terrestrial technologies. Rohde & Schwarz has extended the R&S TS-LBS test solution to support these and other Release 16 network based positioning features.

Ltd selects Rohde & Schwarz's C-V2X RF automated test systemC-V2X is one of the most significant automotive developments, and the creation of the appropriate standards and testing procedures to ensure compliance has become the key to this technology. Vehicle OEMs and Tier1 component suppliers need a standard system to support and guide the development and research of their C-V2X products and function of the overall system. Rohde & Schwarz first to deliver test sequences to fulfill requirements of E112 emergency caller locationA new regulation requires all smartphones sold in the European Union from March 2022 onwards to support caller location for 112 emergency calls. To ensure this feature, the devices must be compliant with several positioning systems as outlined by the European Commission. Rohde & Schwarz announces an extension to its R&S TS-LBS location based services test system, making it the first test solution available to perform the necessary LBS compliance tests. Certification service provider CETECOM has already started first E112 testing using these test sequences
