Rohde & Schwarz (R&S), a world leader in the manufacture of test & measurement, communications, broadcasting, and security equipment, announced today that Denver International Airport (DEN) has purchased and deployed additional R&S QPS201 body scanners at the Jeppesen Terminal’s South Checkpoint as a measure to add capacity to TSA’s screening operations to support increasing passenger volumes.
“DEN was the first US airport to buy and deploy R&S QPS technology and we are thrilled that DEN has again chosen Rohde & Schwarz technology to facilitate and improve the passenger experience in its busy security checkpoint screening operations,” said Frank Dunn, President and CEO of Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. “R&S QPS technology will help support the high-volume passenger security screening needed in Denver in busy summer travel seasons and into the future.“
The R&S QPS201 AIT delivers high-performance security screening using safe millimetre wave radio frequency technology to rapidly and accurately screen passengers automatically for concealed items. With more than 1,000 systems in operation in airport security screening applications in the majority of the world’s busiest airports it is the new standard for on-person screening. In 2022, the R&S QPS201 achieved TSA qualification approving it for use in US airport security screening checkpoints and the system has achieved the highest levels of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) approvals. In the US, in addition to Denver, the R&S QPS201 is currently deployed at LaGuardia International Airport (LGA), Newark International Airport (EWR) and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS).
